System Administration

Set Forbidden Passwords

An Administrator can prevent users from adding certain passwords, such as “1234” or “password.”

If a user attempts to update a password to a value on the Forbidden Passwords page, (e.g., if a user’s password expires and must be reset) an error message displays.

NOTE: Additional password configuration, such as minimum number of characters or requiring alpha or numeric characters, can be set on the Parameters page. Refer to Configure Password Options for more information.

To set a forbidden password:

  1. Select Admin > Configuration > Setup > Forbidden Passwords in the Navigation pane.

NOTE: If no records exist, the page displays in add mode. Otherwise, click Add.

View the field descriptions for the Forbidden Passwords page

  2. Enter the password in the WORD field.
  3. Click Save.
