Map a Project User Name to a User Name in the Platform

If an MS Project plan has resource names assigned to tasks that do not exactly match the corresponding user IDs in the platform, the Resource Synonym page can be used to map the resource names to the platform user IDs.

To map a resource name to a platform user ID:

1. Click Project in the Navigation pane.
2. Click Plans for a project.
3. Click Vertical View.
4. Click the Security tab.

5. Click Resource Synonyms.

   NOTE: If no records exist, the page displays in add mode. Otherwise, click Add.

   View the field descriptions for the Resource Synonym page.

6. Select the platform user ID from the USER ID list box.
7. Enter the resource name of the user to map to the platform user ID in the Resource field.
8. Click Save.
