Configure Headers Rows

A template can have up to four column header rows. The first two column headers (original name and translated name) are static.

Configuring the header rows provides two additional headers containing the following information:

  • Row three - Data type and length details for each column

  • Row four - Text-only representation of the column's help text (without HTML markup)

The third and fourth rows (help text and column data type) are configurable by the page Designer. The configuration settings on a page will differ according to the configuration put in place by the Page Designer (whether or not to include one or the other or both).

NOTE: Before header rows can be configured for the template related to a Construction page, Excel Integration must be enabled. Refer to Enable Excel Integration for more information.

To configure header rows:

  1. Navigate to the page where the Excel template columns should be configured.
  2. Click the Change Settings icon in the Site toolbar.
  3. Select Design.

NOTE: A new tab opens in the browser. The original page remains open in a tab as well.

  4. Click Vertical View.

  6. Enable the Excel Data Type Header check box.

NOTE: The data type and length details for each column displays in the third row of the downloaded file.

  7. Enable the Excel Help Text Header check box.

NOTE: To include the Excel Help Text Header in the Excel template, enable the check box. To not include the Excel Help Text Header in the Excel template, disable the check box.

NOTE: One or both fields (Excel Data Type Header and Excel Help Text Header) can be enabled. It is not required that both have the same setting.

NOTE: After changes have been made to the Excel Integration options, the data page must be refreshed before performing the download. Otherwise, the changes will not be seen in the downloaded Excel template. Refer to Download an Excel Template for more information.
